Menu, prices and timed events
Where a product's price actually comes from, and how to change it for a channel, a branch or an hour.
Menu, prices and timed events
A product has one menu price, and four things can change it. They are applied
in this order, and the last one that matches wins:
- The product's own price — what you set on the product.
- A branch override — one branch charges differently (Menu → Products,
per branch).
- A price tag — a named list for a channel or a set of branches, such as
delivery priced above dine-in (Menu → Price tags). When two tags match,
the higher priority decides; they never stack.
- A timed event — a temporary change with a window: happy hour, a
weekend surcharge, breakfast-only items (Promotions → Timed).
Promotions are _not_ in this list. They discount the cart after the prices are
worked out, and they show as their own line so a guest can see what they got.
Showing a different menu on a device
A menu group is a named subset of products — a short kiosk list, a
delivery-only menu (Menu → Menu groups). Bind it to a channel, or set it on a
specific device in Devices → settings.
An empty group shows the full menu rather than nothing: a half-finished group
is a mistake far more often than an intent to hide everything.
