Kitchen screens and stations

Route tickets to a station and hand a plate along a sequence.

Kitchen screens and stations

Without stations, every kitchen screen shows every ticket. That is fine for

one counter and hopeless for a kitchen with a grill, a cold section and a

pass.

Setting it up

  1. Kitchen → Kitchen flow → add a station. The _code_ is what matters: it

has to match the station set on a product, or on its category. grill on

the station and grill on the product is what routes the ticket.

  1. Set then goes to if a plate moves on — grill → pass. Leave it as

_ready to serve_ for the last station in the line.

  1. Open the kitchen display on each screen and pick its station.

What a cook sees

  • A line appears on the station it was routed to.
  • Bumping it at a station that hands on sends it to the next screen as

_preparing_ — it is not ready, it has moved.

  • Bumping it at the last station marks it ready, and that is the moment the

speed-of-service report records as prepared.

A station cannot hand on to itself, and deleting a station clears anything

pointing at it, so a plate is never handed into a station that no longer

exists.
